Here We Go...Again!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. --1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

First of all, let me say thank you to my followers! I get so excited when I see a new face and oh my goodness...a new comment! It just makes my day! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Second, yikes! The sick bug is back at our house. As soon as I think I've got that bug licked, it surprises me! The school called yesterday and sure enough, Bailey was sick. During the night, Bailey ran a high temp and let me tell you...I hate that! All you moms know, there is nothing worse than your child being sick and not being able to do anything about it. So this morning, I got Zack off to school,
who by the way, was not happy about going to school without his sister! Of course, I then did the "mad-dash-can't-be-late-dance" to get everyone out the door. Finally, I whisked Bailey off to the doctor this morning with little Chloe in tow. Well, the doctor said she has strep throat with maybe a touch of the virus bug everyone has had (sigh...and we can't seem to lose). Three prescriptions and a few hours later, Bailey seems to be feeling much better. If you don't mind, please take a couple of seconds to say a quick prayer for Bailey to be well soon and for the rest of us to stay well. Thank you! We so needed that!

Lastly, a quick little lesson from God to me. Last night, (actually it was the wee morning hours), Bailey's temp was very high. I really began to worry. Then I remembered something I read on Rachel Olsen's blog:

"A common problem I see and have experienced myself, is we’re so busy each day that we don't pause to pray - for ourselves or others. We don't stay plugged in to God ... until a crisis happens. Even then, as Judy commented, sometimes a crisis hits and we're so used to dealing with things without praying that it can take awhile for us to remember to turn this thing over to God in prayer. So developing a pray-as-I-go-through-my-day mindset is important."

Oh yes, in the wee morning hours, God said pray and I did. Thank you, Lord for bringing that little pearl to my mind. And, boy, did I sleep the next thirty minutes like a baby! Oh did I mention, Chloe took the next opportunity (sigh) to awaken me from my sweet sleep. Oh well, we all know a mother's work is never done! And, I truly love every minute of it!

Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to come to you anytime, day or night. No matter the hour and no matter the circumstance, you are always up and ready to listen! You are so good to me.

From a truly grateful heart, thank you!

Amen.

:) Becky

I am visiting your site thru Blessed. This post has so much truth if we can just set our goal for that mindset to always, always got to Him first. But isn't it true how often we wait till much later in the crisis to call on him..Lord help us to do better.

Thanks for sharing. I am enjoying your site.
